As new movies are being produced, Rockbridge students have predicted which will be the best. The selected movies are “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire”, “Captain America: Brave New World”, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”, and “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget”. Out of 122 responses, “Captain America: Brave New World” had  the most votes with  53. “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” had  28 votes, “Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom” had  21, and “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” had  20.

“Captain America: Brave New World” is an American superhero film based on Marvel comics. It is directed by Julius Onah and stars Anthony Mackie as Captain America. The current release date is July 26, 2024.

“Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” is all about Godzilla and Kong facing a terrifying monster that threatens the entire world. Directed by Adam Wingarl, the current release date is in April 2024. There are some predictions that a secondary monster named Shima, the same species as  Kong,  will be getting in the way of the characters saving the world.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is about Aquaman having to forge an uneasy alliance to save the planet. This film is directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman. The current release date is Dec. 20. There are many predictions that Aquaman has to ally with his half brother, Orm.

“Chicken run: Dawn of the Nugget” is an upcoming stop motion animated comedy film directed by Sam Fell. Zachary Levi plays Rocky and Thandiwe Newton plays Ginger.  The current release date is Dec. 15. Older and younger people seem to like this better “nostalgia for when my kids were little.” Miss Hinkle.

Although all of the movies have their own way of  entertaining, from action to comedy, “Captain America: Brave New World” is the movie most students are excited for, as it had  nearly half of the votes. “Superheroes are better than monsters.” Nurse Heidi said, the action of super heroes saving the world peeks more people’s interest then monsters doing it.
