On Sept. 16, the ‘Cats traveled to Staunton and fought a long, hard battle against Staunton Storm. The Wildcats lost 38-21, but there were some hard fought plays. One play was when Garrett Stillwell blocked a punt that was then recovered by Josh Wright for a Wildcat touchdown.

Josh Wright, senior wide receiver, talked about what was going through his head when he made the punt return for a touchdown.

“Making that touchdown made me feel really good and it gave us all hope for the rest of the game.”

Nick Oyler, senior linebacker/running back, shared how he felt after he made a touchdown later in the game.

“Making that touchdown was great because it was my first one of the season. It was also good because I had my buddies blocking for me.”

Daronde Stores, senior running back, scored a touchdown as well as a two point conversion.

The Cats have room and time to improve for their next game which will be Sept. 23, when they host the Fort Defiance Indians.
