After a three month break Campaigners is back. Campaigners is a Young Life affiliated event that takes place on Fridays at 7:00 a.m.. All students are welcome to come eat breakfast, spend time with one another, and learn more about the Bible.

Grace Fleshman is in ninth grade and is attending Campaigners for the first time.

“Campaigners is a great way to start the day,” said Fleshman, “I’m looking forward to spending time with friends and meeting new people this semester.”

YoungLife is looking to reach out to the community after not being able to have Club or indoor Campaigners in a year. Club is a weekly event that happens on Monday nights where students are able to play games, sing songs, and learn more about God.

Rockbridge County’s Young Life Staff Associate, Sarah Parnell, is very excited about the upcoming semester and for what campaigners has in store.

“I am so grateful to have gotten the chance to start up morning campaigners again this school year,” said Parnell, “It gives students a chance to connect with leaders on a more intentional level and celebrates the conversations they have together outside of events throughout the week.”

Younglife is also currently advertising a Campaigners Weekend that will take place Sept.  17-19. They will be spending time in circular tents called yurts and bonding with one another at a wilderness adventure camp called Adventures Wild Ridge. They will be hiking, cooking their meals, and spending time in the bible.

“Our vision is simple: introduce students to Jesus Christ in a relational way and help them grow in their faith. Campaigners just gives us a space to do that!” said Parnell.
