Not long after the opening of the 2022-23 school year, the Junior Student Council Association’s treasurer position opened. After a few days of announcing the opening, the first election ended up being between 14 juniors.

At the end of the first round of voting, there was a tie between six of the candidates which led to a second election between the six.

The second election ended with a tie between two candidates, and Rockbridge County High School’s SCA sponsor, Ms. Jessika Crance, spoke on why the decision was made to have co-treasurers.

“There were so many that ran in general and when we did the run-off, there were still six left, so we did the top two,” said Crance.

Juniors John Lindberg and Katherine Lotts won the election for treasurer, and both will act as co-treasurers.

“I am really excited to be in SCA,” said Lotts. “I think it will be fun to share ideas and work together.”
