With the last game on August 29th, the NFL finished their pre-season. After not having pre-season games last year, it was nice seeing the teams play again. Unlike past years when teams play four pre-season games, the NFL cut a game this year to make room for another game in the regular season. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys opened the pre-season with the Hall of Fame Game. Eight unlucky teams came up short coming into the pre-season 0-3 while six teams impressively went undefeated.

The Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, and Los Angeles Rams made up the eight teams that left the summer with zero wins. Surprisingly the Green Bay Packers are on the list. The Packers ended their 2020/21 season 13-3, won the NFC North, and made it to the NFC championship game. With Aaron Rodgers staying in Green Bay, we’ll see if the Packers can turn it around in the regular season.

Stuck in the middle of the pack, eighteen teams managed to have a mix between wins and loses. One team in the middle of the mix is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who everyone would expect to be at the top of the leaderboard. After coming off of a Super Bowl win with their outstanding defensive line and all-star quarterback, one would expect them to rise to the top yet again. Another team in the middle is the Jacksonville Jaguars, who is a team to look out for. With their first round pick being the fresh out of Clemson, Trevor Lawrence is giving all Jag fans high hopes for their regular season and well, things are looking promising.

For the teams going undefeated, five of the six teams played in last year’s conference games. The Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, and Cleveland Browns impressed us all with show stopping performances in their pre-season games. After seeing the Chiefs play in last year’s Super Bowl and seeing their lack of offensive line, some would be surprised with the fact they went 3-0 in pre-season, and like other teams, the Chiefs are gunning for the Super Bowl this year and they’re looking like a good contestant. 

With Josh Allen thirsty for a Super Bowl win and Lamar Jackson looking for an MVP, there are some teams you should keep your eye on this coming season. The Buffalo Bills have been close the past two years to getting their first ever Super Bowl ring and I know that Bills Mafia is willing to take down any team in their way, and maybe with a little help from Mitch Trubisky. Although the Bucs had some early trouble, I would still consider them a dangerous team. With reliable Tom Brady as quarterback and several key re-signings, such as Rob Gronkowski and Leonard Fournette, they could be lethal this year. It’s very exciting having football be almost back to completely normal, and let’s all hope that we don’t take any steps backwards.
