Classic Disney movies can easily be a top choice when picking what to watch. They can take students back to their childhood and can bring up special memories from a person’s life. Some tops could include Cars, Toy Story, Tangled, Finding Nemo, and Monsters Inc.
There are a few different ways you can classify a movie as classic, but these were some of our criteria. The movie must be an original Disney movie. It must be made before the year 2013. It should also be a movie that most people have watched.
Many movies can be considered classics but some that didn’t make our list are more popular than others. These include Cinderella, Pinocchio, Bambi, Peter Pan, and Snow White.
After we made a list of some popular classics, we asked a few students what their favorites are.
Junior Lily Clark added her favorite Disney Classic and what she commonly chose when searching for a movie as a kid.
“My favorite classic Disney movie is Toy Story,” said Clark.
Toy Story was made in 1995 and is a very popular comedy for kids. Buzz Lightyear and Woody caught the attention of viewers when it first came out.
Junior Brenan Fridley said he loves watching Disney movies and it was a little hard for him to choose.
“My favorite Disney movie is Finding Nemo,” said Fridley.
Finding Nemo was made in 2003 and it was also a comedy and action movie. Nemo, Dory, and Marvin were the main characters throughout the movie and the underwater actions drew the attention of watchers.
Sophomore Lily Thomas shares her opinion on what the best classic is.
“My favorite movie is Cars,” said Thomas.
Cars was made in 2006 and was placed in the comedy/sport genre. It tied in a kid’s love for cars with the magic of Disney movies.
Whether the classic is about cars, princesses, fish, or even toys, they all have something about them that makes them special. While watching, you can’t help but reminisce about your childhood and get hooked on the magical characters.
