When fall comes around, there is no better feeling than curling up with a good book. Getting cozy with a blanket while watching the leaves fall out the window brings a very relaxing environment.
Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, and there is no better time to read than in fall. One of my favorite memories from when I was younger was when I would get to read outside after school. I would sit on my rusty old tricycle and ride around while enjoying my newest series.
Through the many books I have read in my life, I have discovered my favorites to read during the fall season.
“The Fellowship of the Ring” by J.R.R. Tolkien is an absolutely fantastic read for fall. This book was introduced and read to me by my dad. It is one of his favorites so it holds a special place in my heart.
The book begins in the fall, so it is perfect to get into the fall mood. The book is in a series with two other books, so when readers get invested, they will be able to read all season long. The characters are easy to get attached to, and once you start, the book is hard to put down. Readers get to take a journey with all of the characters throughout the series, and get to know them super well.
The second book is “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer. This book is the iconic vampire romance that holds a big place in my heart. It contains an iconic love triangle between the three main characters that keeps readers wanting more.
This book follows the main character, Bella. We follow her as she begins at a new highschool, in the dark, dreary town of Forks, Washington. The book paints a perfect picture of fall, and includes scary elements that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
The third book is “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman. If readers are looking for a bit more of a spooky book for Halloween, this book is perfect. There are twists and turns that make the story very unique. While a little bit scary, this book is great for readers young and old.
The fourth book is a well known classic, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, by J.K. Rowling. I think that this book gives the most perfect fall vibes. The whole series is great to read while laying in bed with a hot coffee or tea.
The book follows three best friends as they embark on their journey at their school of magic. There is action, adventure, and movies to follow after you finish the books.
The last book is “Wait Till Helen Comes” by Mary Downing Hahn. If readers are looking for a scary ghost story, this is the book to read. It is a little sad compared to the other book recommendations, but still worth the read.
I think that this book is one of the best ones to read around Halloween, so that readers can get into the spirit. This book is a good one to introduce younger readers into scary stories.
All of these books are very good to read for either fall or Halloween. Whether you want something spooky or cozy, one of these books is sure to be perfect for you.
