On Friday Feb. 2, Fortnite launched chapter two season six. The season featured many new significant map changes, and brought many new weapons to the map.
For starters, the season brought many new points of interest(POIs) such as “Crime City, Agency Prime, The Prison, and Daring Docks.”
The new season also retained many points of interest from season one such as “Shogun’s Solitude, Demon’s Dojo, and Seaport City.”
The new season also brought an array of new weapons. These new weapons include the Enhanced Collateral Damage AR, Baron’s Double Down Pistol, the Falcon Eye Sniper, and the Outlaw Shotgun.
The new map changes, along with the new weapons, require players to rethink their ideas of how to play the game.
A new fan favorite enjoyed by the gaming community is the Falcon Eye Sniper, which is brand new to Fortnite this season. The Falcon Eye Sniper is a high fire rate weapon, with consistently good damage with every shot.
The season also brought a new battle pass, with a new reward coming every time a player reaches a new tier. The final tier, tier 100, is the Spire Assassin skin.
Players are enjoying the new locations, and liking the new challenges. Yusuf Aliyev, a seasoned Fortnite player, had nothing but good things to say about the season.
“The new locations are super cool, and there was a good spread of new items and weapons. Personally I really enjoyed the new pulse scanner, which allows you to see players and chests around you for a brief period when thrown down. I’m really happy with the new season, and excited to play more.” Aliyev said.
It seems this season is giving players a fresh start, making the game feel almost new, but still keeping the same play style Fortnite has always had. Giving players a chance to feel refreshed with the same game.
Overall, the new season offers players new weapons to use, along with new locations for players to explore.
We asked students if they liked the new season, out of 61 responses, 77% said that they liked the season, and 23% said they didn’t. We also asked students what their favorite new spot is. Crime city was the most popular, with 8 responses. Following Crime City was Burd and Seaport city, followed by Outlaws Oasis.
