Over the past couple of years there has been a debate between teenagers whether they prefer skinny or baggy jeans. In the past, skinny jeans were the look – everyone was wearing them. Now more people are seeming to prefer baggy over skinny jeans due to looks, style or even just their own personal comfort. 

Sophomore Atleigh Mason she shared her opinion on why she prefers baggy jeans. 

“Baggy are definitely better. They’re a lot more comfortable and I feel like they suit people better and they have more of a… they just look better on everybody” Mason said. 

Social media seems to play a big part in peoples’ styles and what they choose to wear. Some people seem to think one of the biggest reasons baggy jeans are trending right now is because so many people on social media formats are wearing them. Freshman Emilyn Kelly, shared her opinions on if social media affects the jean style that most people prefer. 

“Baggy jeans are so much better. They are more stylish and you can pair them with absolutely anything” Kelly said. 

As for skinny jeans, a poll was conducted on which students prefer. A total of 149 students responded, the vote was very clear on which students preferred the most. 108 students voted for baggy, while 11 voted for skinny and 30 had no opinion. 

Junior Miles Holland gave his opinion on why baggy jeans are the superior choice.

 “Baggy jeans are on top, they give you more flow. They are also way better because they give you aura” Holland said.  

Overall, baggy jeans seem to have most students’ votes. They find them more stylish, comfortable, and fit anyone. Though some students voted skinny, it seems they aren’t the look anymore.
