“The Summer I Turned Pretty” had its first season debut on June 17, 2022. Since then, Amazon Studios has released two more seasons, with the most recent one being dropped on July 16. Each episode follows the main character Belly, and her journey through finding love.
Throughout this article, there will be spoilers. So if you haven’t watched recent episodes, do not read all the way to the end.
Throughout the seasons, Belly catches herself in a love triangle with two brothers, Jeremiah Fisher and Conrad Fisher. Viewers of this show find themselves torn between team Jeremiah and Belly (Team Jellyfish) and team Conrad and Belly (Team Bonrad)
Abigail: As a part of team Jellyfish, I strongly feel that Jeremiah is a better option for Belly. Conrad is manipulative and always pushes Belly away. Jeremiah has always been there for Belly and continues to show up for her. When Belly was sick over the summer Jeremiah stayed with her and took care of her, while Conrad went to the arcade.
Bonrad fans use the excuse that Conrad’s mom was dying and he was having a hard time processing his emotions. I make the argument that Jeremiah’s mom was also dying and he still cared about Belly, unlike Conrad. Conrad pushes away and doesn’t care who he hurts in the process. He purposefully sabotaged his little brother’s wedding just so he could feel good about himself. He chose his happiness over his littler brother’s, then tried to fix it with a bottle of Gatorade.
Not to mention Jeremiah is the hotter brother. Jeremiah and Belly look better together, than Belly and “Conrat”.

Presley: As a part of team Bonrad, I feel that there is a sense of undeniable chemistry. Although Conrad hasn’t always been the most attentive to her feelings and needs, the fact that his mother was dying needs to be considered. Conrad cares for her deep down, and has always loved even before she was “pretty”.
Belly and Conrad have a much deeper connection and know almost everything about each other. Conrad has always tried to take a step back, because he knew he would hurt her worse if he stuck around while battling with his mental health.
His respect for Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship shows maturity despite it hurting him deeply. Conrad is a responsible man, and could give Belly a stable and happy life. Unlike Jeremiah, who is 20,000 dollars in debt, and is careless when it comes to priorities.
Jeremiah cheated on Belly twice while he was on spring break. He thought they were broken up, even though Belly thought they were very much together. Jeremiah has these outbursts often where he acts irrationally. Conrad used to be a very unhappy person, until he started going to therapy to better himself. He knew this was necessary to not only show up for himself, but be a better man for Belly.
