“I started playing the piano when I was in Elementary school, I was 6 years old; I played for a couple of years, then I stopped because I wasn’t into being pressured to play, but I eventually came back around to it 2 years ago and I have been playing since then more consistently. My love for music got me into playing the piano. I love interpretations and different genres; it’s enjoyable to put a piece together, it’s something you’re putting your heart into and you’re able to express that piece. Playing the piano has also made me a faster typer, and being able to type without looking at the keyboard; which gives me the ability to get essays done faster. I would say that my strengths as a piano player are being able to play emotionally, this allows me to flow into the music more creating arts in my left hand while my right hand creates a melody.” – Senior Jamie Johnson
