Crumbl Cookie has gained popularity over the last year for their giant and extravagant cookies. People all over social media rave about how delicious they are: but are they really worth the hype?
We decided to figure it out. We went to the Harrisonburg Crumbl location, but Crumbl also has locations in Blacksburg, Charlottesville, and Lynchburg.
We tried all of the weekly flavors, plus one from the secret menu. The cookies are the raspberry cupcake cookie, the cinnamon roll cheesecake cookie, the semi sweet chocolate chunk cookie, the chocolate milkshake cookie, the blueberry muffin cookie, and the s’mores skillet cookie.
The raspberry cupcake cookie was by far our favorite. It was a normal sugar cookie, with delicious raspberry frosting. When we ordered the cookie, they piped the frosting on right in front of us. It was so fresh and tasted very scrumdiddlyumptious. The cookie itself was a normal cookie and would not have been good without the frosting. This cookie is definitely worth the hype.
The cinnamon roll cheesecake cookie was an interesting one for sure. The flavor was amazing, it tasted just like a cinnamon bun. The thing is, it had the texture and flavor of a cheesecake, which was a little too rich for my liking. I would definitely not be able to eat a whole cookie. It is honestly more of a cake than a cookie. Overall it is not worth the hype for me.
The semi sweet chocolate chunk cookie was amazing. It was just like having a fresh baked cookie at your grandma’s house. The cookie itself was delicious. The chocolate had salt on it, so it wasn’t too sweet. Everything balanced out very well. Overall the cookie was amazing and very tasty. I would totally get this cookie again and, it’s definitely worth the hype.
The chocolate milkshake cookie was my least favorite of the box. It was way too chocolaty for me. It was insane how much the frosting tasted like an actual chocolate milkshake, so they did something right there. The issue for me was the cookie was way too soft and tasted a little undercooked, but that is how most Crumble Cookies tend to be. Though this cookie achieved the flavor it was supposed to have, it just wasn’t good. Definitely not worth the hype.
The secret menu item that we got was the blueberry muffin cookie. It tasted exactly like a blueberry muffin. While it was very good, I would’ve preferred to just have a blueberry muffin. The cookie itself was sweet and the blueberries were very tart. Overall everything balanced out very well. While this cookie is good, it’s not worth the hype.
The s’mores skillet cookie was scrumptious. Though it didn’t taste very strongly like a s’more, it had a delightful taste to every part of the cookie. The filling was amazing, very rich and creamy. The cookie itself and the chocolate were so good and the perfect amount of both. It is definitely in my top three favorites from the box. Overall, definitely worth the hype.
The Crumbl Cookies were overall pretty delicious. They were very rich, but not worth the calorie count. They are also pretty expensive, a single cookie is $4.99, a four-pack is $17.99, and a six-pack is $25.99. We decided that half the cookies were worth the hype, while the other half weren’t.
