The CoronaVirus (COVID-19) has created a Pandemic around the world. As a result, we have to stay inside to prevent spreading the virus. Hopefully, soon, we can go back to having normal lives. During these trying times, quarantine is essential for people’s safety, but it can be tiresome. Here are some things people can do to help them and to pass some time.

  1. Get moving. Exercising or going on a hike will help pass the time and get people outside. Going hiking is a good way to go depending on where people hike at. Hiking can help someone’s peace of mind and can benefit their health as well.
  2. Say hello. Check in on friends, by calling, texting, or facetiming friends to see what they are doing could give more ideas on what to do. It can also help to brighten someone else’s day during these times. It is important for us to socialize so we can stay in touch with everyone.
  3. Listen to music. Making a playlist takes time, and once the playlist is created, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the music. There are also pre-made playlists that are readily accessible. You can also listen to music while doing other things,  and can also listen to podcasts to help.
  4. Get artsy. Drawing or painting, which can bring out an artistic ability that you did not think you had. There are many tutorials online that you can follow to help you.
  5. Do a puzzle. A jigsaw puzzle, word search, or any other type of puzzles can be fun to do. These can also get your brain working.
  6. Watch Netflix. This can kill your boredom. A popular show on Netflix right now, is Tiger King.
  7.  Do schoolwork or read. This can also be done during quarantine. Doing schoolwork can help to prepare for next year. Reading can help if you find a really good book that you like. A book that I have enjoyed is I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou.

These are tumultuous times, but keeping yourself busy with activities can help make quarantine not seem so prolonged and tedious.
