Although there are many sports brands nowadays, there have been two narrowed down to compete for top spot. Nike and Under Armour are famously known to be the best two sports brands. There are other brands including Puma, Champion, and Adidas, but they’re not as popular.  

However, with these two being the best top two, there comes a question: Which sports brand is better? 

Students received a poll asking which of the two brands are better. With 63 responses, Nike was crowned the best with 80.3% of votes. Under Armour had 19.7% of votes. 

Head Varsity Soccer Coach Dr. Scott Youngdahl shares his preference. 

“I truly don’t think either one is better, however the Under Armour gear always has prominently placed logos, so it seems like free advertising,” said Youngdahl. 

Sophomore Emily Boling is a JV soccer captain and is a fan of Nike. Boling likes the cleats that Nike produces. 

“Nike has a huge variety of gear for every sport. They have reliable, long lasting apparel and equipment, as well as a particularly trendy selection of casual wear. My personal favorites are the gorgeous soccer cleats,” said Boling. 

Junior Marla Zollman is a varsity softball player, and prefers Under Armour over Nike. Zollman likes Under Armour because of the softball pants. 

“Under Armour’s softball pants fit better and also last longer than Nike pants,” said Zollman. 

Sophomore Ethan Forbes plays varsity lacrosse. Forbes prefers Nike in a very in-depth way. Forbes enjoys Nike not only because of the quality but also their advertising ways. 

“Nike provides a wider range of products than Under Armour. Nike invests nearly $2.5 billion  into research each year, whereas Under Armour only invests about $650 million per year into research. Nike has many more athlete endorsements than Under Armour, and to expand on that, they have endorsements with several of the most famous athletes including: Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Christiano Ronaldo,” said Forbes. 

Nike has been deemed the best sports attire according to RCHS. They have the better quality and their equipment lasts longer.
