As clearly demonstrated above, there are a variety of clubs at RCHS. As a reader, there might be a temptation to join every single club that pops up, but there are a few things to remember beforehand. First and foremost, make sure to have fun. Instead of joining clubs because they will look good on a resume or help with getting into college, join clubs because they bring excitement and are genuinely engaging. Second, remember that joining a club is a commitment. Every club expects its membership to be in regular attendance for meetings and show regular participation in events. If a member is not participating in club activities, they will gain nothing from the club nor will the club gain anything from the member. Consequently, joining too many clubs is ill-advised as it will often result in over commitment. Instead, pick a couple of clubs that really jump out, and become an engaged and active member in these clubs by participating in events and serving in leadership roles. Long story short, choose clubs wisely and savor the fun.
