Is the Buena Vista Don Tequila better than the Lexington Don Tequila? That is the age old question everyone in Rockbridge County is dying to have the answer to. To answer this question, we ventured out to both Lexington and Buena Vista’s Don Tequila. We tasted and reviewed both of their entire meals, to see which restaurant is superior.
Quincy ordered Fajitas Nachos with chicken and steak mix and no tomatoes at Lexington Don Tequila with water to keep his mouth unaffected before the meal. Dean ordered Nachos Texanos at Lexington and also had water to save money and to keep my mouth unaffected as well. The complimentary chips and the dips were very good and crispy, and hit the spot, however they weren’t salted enough. The food came out in eight minutes and 32 seconds which is extremely fast, a little too fast. It was too fast because it gave the tasters little time to consume the chips and dip. When the food came out it was a little too hot to eat right away, which is not surprising considering how fast it came out.
Dean thoroughly enjoyed his nachos. The shrimp was Dean’s favorite part of the meal because it had a nice grill on it and was spicy. There was only one downside of Dean’s meal,
and it was the lack of saltiness in his nachos. Despite that minor inconvenience, Dean rated his experience at Lexington Don Tequila an eight out of ten.
Fajita Nachos is the order that Quincy always goes with, so he knows that it is very consistent. His favorite part of his meal were the grilled peppers and onions, due to their spice and the amazing texture. The wait time for Buena Vista was ten minutes and fifteen seconds, which was a perfect amount of wait time. Everything tastes great in Quincy’s
meal, however, the steak wasn’t cut up enough and he’d find excessively long strips of steak. Quincy rated his experience at Lexington’s Don Tequila a seven out of ten, only being brought down by the lack
of salt, how fast the food came out, and how long the steak was.
At the Buena Vista Don Tequila, Dean ordered the arroz con pollo. Dean’s favorite part of the meal was the rice because of it being nicely cooked and the good consistency. His least favorite part was the amount of cheese that was put onto the meal, he believed it was drenched. Dean believed the chips and dip were relatively the same as Lexingtons. However, the white sauce was better
At Buena Vista Don Tequilas, Quincy ordered the same thing that he got from the Lexington Don Tequilas. Quincy’s favorite part was the amount of steak and chicken that were on the nachos. He thought that his food could’ve been cooked better, it was a bit overcooked. Quincy’s least favorite part of the meal was the chips because of how they had too much salt. However, the white sauce was better in Buena Vista.
To conclude, Lexington’s Don Tequila had better overall food, chips and salsa. Buena Vista had better white sauce as well as much more sufficient wait time. Overall, the Lexington Don Tequilas is superior to Buena Vistas.
