On March 15, the RCHS Trivium will be putting on their yearly fundraiser at Hull’s Drive-In on Route 11 at 6:30 pm. This is something that the Photojournalism staff started in 2019 in order to lower yearbook costs.
The proceeds for this fundraiser directly go toward improving and lowering the cost of the yearbook, which the class spends the entire year working on. Putting together the yearbook requires substantial time, effort, and money to make it the best it can be, and having a fundraiser helps greatly support this.
The Hull’s Drive-In night is an easy way to get outside and spend time with your friends and family. In addition to this, it is also supporting a good cause in the school community by helping out photojournalism with their creation of the yearbook.
A fun aspect that staff members look forward to each year is their mini movie that they create as a class. The theme of the mini movie is always based around the movie that is showing afterwards, last year the staff based their project around the movie ET.
While the Photojournalism mini movie is kept a secret until its showing, the movie succeeding and therefore the theme for this year’s mini movie, is “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”. The staff is currently starting the planning process for their film production, which usually ends up being around five to ten minutes long when completed.
Junior and Photojournalism II student Claire Sigler looks forward to helping put on the fundraiser and has a goal of enhancing her design and editing skills. Not only is the Hull’s Drive In fundraiser beneficial for the class as a whole, but it also helps individual students work on their personal objectives in the class.
“My personal favorite aspect of the fundraiser is getting to show our mini movie to the community. I love getting to see a film I helped create on the big screen,” Sigler said.
Phojo’s Hull’s Drive In night allows students to work hard on a project, build valuable classroom skills, and get to see it all pay off the night of the showing. If you are looking to get out in the community, support The Trivium’s production of the yearbook, and see a nice movie, the Hulls Drive-In night is an upcoming event that may interest you.
Tickets will be available for presale on the Hulls website, as well as at the front gates the night of the showing. For more information about the fundraiser, be on the lookout for advertisements and announcements at school or in town.
