Everyday on the school announcements it is said how many days school has been in- session not including snow days, but including virtual. As of Feb. 21 we are on the 114th day of school. To some that may seem unimportant, but when you think about it that means we have 66 days left. What are everyone’s emotions about this last semester?
In a poll taken, about 58.8% of 114 people felt just plain meh about this semester. They aren’t excited nor are they sad. The second highest response was that many feel nervous.

Senior Lena Greer expresses how she feels about this being her last semester.
“It’s really sad to think I only have like three months left with my friends who I’ve grown up with everyday, but at the same time I’m really excited to move on with my life and go to college. I’m also really sad to leave my friends that are still in high school next year because they are the ones who inspire me to keep going,” Greer said.
Some people may be like Greer, saddened by the thought of leaving, but others may feel more like senior Elizabeth McCormick, ready to move on.
“I’m really excited for college. I feel like as a senior I’m kind of just over it all, I’m ready to get out. Most days I wake up and I just want to go back to bed,” McCormick said.
Seniors may have a lot on their mind, but what about the Juniors? Afterall, in a few months they will be seniors.
Junior Bailey Carter expresses how she feels about this semester.
“It’s pretty cool that this year has gone by really fast for me and I’m doing okay with everything, but it’s scary to think I’ll be a senior next year,” Carter said.
There is a lot for a junior to think about from thinking about classes they want to take next year to touring colleges they wish to apply to.
Junior Cora Conway shares how she feels about this semester coming to an end.
“I should be touring colleges but I’m not yet and it’s just like I don’t want to skip days of school because that gives me more work. It feels weird because it hasn’t kicked in that I’m a Junior much less that I’ll be a Senior in a couple months,” Conway said.
There’s alot to stress about as students get closer to graduating, but what about Sophomores? How are they choosing what classes to take knowing that it could affect college?
Sophomore Chase Potter gives us some insight about that.
“Just from all the people I’ve talked to, like upperclassmen everyone says it’s the hardest year so I’m just a little bit scared but like I kind of cut back on some of the harder classes just to make the year go by easy,” said Potter.
Even though the clock is ticking towards the end of the year; many things are happening at RCHS. First off, spring sports tryouts start the week of Feb. 24. The NHS Lip sync is scheduled for Feb. 28 along with the Faculty vs Students volleyball game. No matter if it’s your first or last year being a Wildcat there is a lot to look forward to, and a lot to look back on.
