This year the special education teachers added to their roster and Brian Dietz has joined the team. Dietz has taught at Rockbridge County before ? and wanted to come back. Dietz’s whole family is here at Rockbridge County High and he wanted to be in the same school as them.
“Being in the same building as my wife, same schedule, same place. We get to commute to work together. My daughter is here so it’s just family that is a big driving force for being here, nice being in the same building,” Dietz said.
Dietz’s wife, Carrie Dietz, is a math teacher, and his daughter Kelly Dietz is a freshmen.
All teachers have different methods of teaching that they apply too, like getting to know more about their students.
“I just like building relationships with the students. So when you have a relationship established and the trust it is easier to do any other strategy that you come across,” Dietz said.
Dietz’s goal this year is to give students the correct tools to use in life,
“You know, as long as students had the tools to be successful once they left this building then our work was accomplished,’’ Dietz said.
Dietz is in room 120. Stop by to say hello.
