Rockbridge County High School is excited to welcome Dalton Ragland as its new assistant principal. Ragland, a native of Nelson County, Virginia, brings a strong background in education and leadership to RCHS. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2020, with his masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, he later earned his administrative endorsement through Longwood University.
For the past five years, Ragland has worked as a teacher, and has since taken on a variety of leadership positions, including 504 Coordinator, Grade Level Lead, School Testing Coordinator, and basketball coach.
Now stepping into his new role at RCHS, Ragland is eager to get involved.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the community, getting to know the staff and students, and figuring out the atmosphere and vibe of the school,” said Ragland.
Outside of work, Ragland enjoys spending time with his wife, Bree, and their dog, Ellie. He also helps run a family side business that takes him to card conventions, where he buys, sells, and trades a variety of collectible trading cards.
