“I’ve been a strength training teacher for 11 years. I wanted to be a strength training teacher to see student growth, I think it’s the most rewarding thing, it’s always fun, and it’s different, because it’s an elective, and they want to be in here, so you get really good kids that are motivated. I get more experience and get different workouts and see how kids adapt and what they actually like really goes along with their percentages. A strength training class always starts off with a warmup to get the blood flowing, then, when students have their maxes, they go through their percentage charts, and we have our entire workout program that they follow. I would say it’s pretty easy to keep students motivated, once they get their maxes and see their progressions, they get excited, and even the students that aren’t really motivated at first, but they really start to buy in once they see their progress go up by every nine weeks every lift.” – Teacher Travis Roadcap
