Post Malone, the famous pop music artist, has come out with his very own country album. Previously known for his songs “Congratulations” and “Sunflower,” Post Malone has made a drastic genre switch to country and has reached Billboard Hot 100 with his song “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen, one of the more famous country singers.
On Aug. 15 Post Malone released “F-1 Trillion” right before releasing an additional nine songs to his deluxe album “F-1 Trillion: Long Bed.” Ever since that date, his songs have gotten more streams on all platforms. After that, Post Malone became somewhat of a country singer.
Overall, I really enjoy listening to this album. I think each of the songs really amplify his voice and show how good of a singer he is.
After hearing all of his songs, one in particular really stood out to me. “Yours” is definitely one of my favorite songs on the entire album. While I listened, I had the lyrics pulled up which really changed the meaning of the song for me. It is about Post Malone’s daughter and how she will eventually grow up and move on to love someone else. This song really got me in the feels and I loved listening to it.
Between his new country album and his older pop albums, I prefer his country. I think being able to hear his true voice while singing and the deeper meaning behind the songs make it even better.
Although I like listening to his older albums, I think he knew what he was doing when he wrote all of these songs. Who knew that such a devoted rapper and songwriter could make an extreme switch like this?
This switch may have come as a big surprise to many, but I think people, including myself, are glad that it happened. Hopefully in the future Post Malone will continue with this newfound genre and keep putting out meaningful songs for everyone to listen to.
