School can be pretty demanding. Waking up at the crack of dawn just to fight through unbearable traffic and eight hours stuck in the same building. By the time people get to school, they’re ready to fall asleep at their desks. But for students, and out of season athletes, there’s a delicious solution. Monster Energy, with 150 mg of caffeine, is bound to kick-start your day. But, with a multitude of flavors, it can be hard to choose. Luckily, we have put our sleep and hearts on the line to rank each and every flavor of Monster Energy Ultra.
Finding each and every flavor was pretty hard, but some of them were genuinely impossible. Because of our region, certain flavors don’t get shipped out to our area. Sadly, we didn’t get the chance to try Ultra Gold and Ultra Black. Ultra Gold is pineapple flavored, while Ultra Black is black cherry flavored. They are both said to be incredibly good, and we’d love to update the list one day if we ever get the chance to try them both. For now, we’ll start with tackling the 14 available to us, and ranking our top five.
Starting off easy, the Ultra Zero Monster (or white monster) can be found at almost any gas station you walk into. It’s most definitely a fan favorite, if not the most popular flavor. But is it the best? It’s normally a go to flavor of ours, and is a refreshing classic twist on the original drink. The white monster immediately gives you a flavorful burst of citrusy energy with your morning, while having a refreshing fruity feel. After careful consideration, we both rated the drink as a 9.7, a strong start to our list.
Transitioning now into a sweet drink, the peach monster! Ultra Peachy Keen is one of the more common flavors you see people with, and it’s pretty easy to find. With the first sip, you get a ton of immense peach flavor right out of the gate with a perfectly peachy after-taste. It’s the perfect way to start your morning with a sweet energizing treat! We decided that the peach monster gets an 8.8 out of 10, and is definitely a fan favorite.
Staying with the fruit flavors, next up is the strawberry monster, Ultra Strawberry Dreams. With a refreshing strawberry taste, it’s always one of our go-to’s! Scoring high, we both decided on a 9.6, scoring right under the Ultra Zero. It’s always a hit, and you can never go wrong choosing strawberry.
Still on the fruity theme, next is Ultra Sunrise. With a delicious orange flavor, its like having caffeinated and fizzy orange juice! With a shockingly good fruit flavor and a deliciously real orange taste, this Monster definitely has a spot in our hearts. We decided to give this flavor an 8.7, coming in just below peach.
Finally, last but not least, is Ultra Blue Hawaiian. This flavor was released earlier this year, and has become wildly popular. Taking our final and fifth spot on the chart, Blue Hawaiian gets an 8.4.

Now that we’re fully caffeinated, we can both ensure that this list is the blueprint for trying out the new flavors. Even if your favorite wasn’t on our list, all of the Ultra flavors hold a special place in our hearts, and this list took forever to make, just because of how amazing each flavor is. If you want to make some tweaks to our ranking, Monster Energy can be found in almost every gas station, grocery store, and convenience store. Each monster is around $3.00 depending on where you’re buying them from, and we strongly recommend you to try them out for yourself!
