The season of murder and mystery is upon us, and what is a better way to celabrate it than watching something that includes both? On Sept. 21, 2022 Netflix released “Dahmer,” a series that walks you through the monsterest thoughts of serial killer Jeffery Dahmer.

What I have enjoyed the most from watching this show is that it is not a documentary that looks back on his life, but instead you are going through his life like a timeline. This makes it feel like you are a part of the show. With the show being in this format, it shows the events that lead Jeffery Dahmer, your average joe, to be Jeffery Dahmer the serial killer.

“Dahmer” is an amazing show that kept me on the edge of my seat at all times. The writers of the series could not have done a better job with anything. The plot of the show is absolutely amazing and even though I was not alive during this time, it makes me feel like I was. Another great decision the writers made was casting Evan Peters as Jeffery Dahmer. The resemblance between him and Dahmer is crazy, and Peters is also an outstanding horror actor.

“Dahmer” is realistic in the case of the timeline of the killings and even the personalities of the actors. There are many scenes from the show where you can go back and watch actual footage from when it happened and they are the same. You get to witness the killing and what he does with the bodies after. You get to see what the courtroom was like during his trial. You even get to see what his life was like in prison.

I can not state enough how amazing a job the writers did with giving the viewer the opportunity to be inside the mind of someone so corrupted. For some, this would not be a big deal, but for me who is a huge fan of true crime documentaries, it gives me a feel of just what this man was thinking.

One of this show’s negative aspects is that it is not for the weak of stomach or heart. On multiple occasions throughout the show there is a lot of violence and gore. Not only does the series show you how he kills his victims, but what he does with them after, and trust me, he does not just throw the bodies out.

Before I started the show, the only thing I could think of was how a show about a murderer can be enjoyable to watch. Now that I have finished it, I tell so many people they need to watch it because of how good it is. My final rating for the show Dahmer is 10/10 and I strongly encourage you to watch it too.
