Zachary Rhodenizer is the new chemistry college preparation instructor for grade levels 10 and 11. Along with being a new chemistry teacher for the regular school day, he is also a junior varsity and varsity coach for the ‘Cats football team, working specifically with the defensive linemen.

Other than coaching football for a hobby, Rhodenizer works on and rides Harley Davidson motorcycles and loves to travel. Rhodenizer is originally from Kerrs Creek, just outside of Lexington.

After high school, Rhodenizer attended Liberty University, where he wrestled and took part in the Brazilian jiu-jitsu team. Later, he went back to coach the jiu-jitsu team at LU.

While studying at LU, he took college courses in science to become a teacher. Rhodenizer has taught biology, A.P. environmental science, and chemistry. He previously came from Staunton River High School.

“My favorite part of teaching chemistry are the labs,” said Rhodenizer.

Rhodenizer said he thinks that everyone at the high school is great, including the administration and students.

“It’s great to be home at RCHS – I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Rhodenizer.
