Kellie Pryor is the new Algebra I and Algebra I part I teacher. Pryor graduated from the University of Michigan for four years. Before coming to RCHS, Pryor taught math for four years in Michigan and in Buena Vista, VA for three years at the middle school level.
“This is my first year teaching at a high school, so I am excited to work with older students. I am looking forward to being a part of prom and homecoming and sporting events,” said Pryor. “Also, it is going to be cool to watch my students start out as freshmen and work their way up to be being seniors.”
Pryor mentioned some differences between her old schools and RCHS.
“My school in Connecticut was bigger than Rockbridge and had Common Core Standards instead of SOL testing. RCHS is larger than Buena Vista with a bigger staff,” said Pryor.
Pryor is enjoying RCHS and is looking forward to teaching her students math this year.
“It has been a great first couple of weeks. I have really enjoyed getting to know the staff and students. There are a lot of hardworking and dedicated people here,” said Pryor
