Indoor Track Starts Up

On December 11 the indoor track team traveled to Lynchburg to compete at Heritage High School. The team was one of 12 to compete at the meet.

Jacob Ivins, Evan Roney, Cole Boller-Pinkham, and Graham Davidson make up the boys 4×800 for the Wildcats. On Saturday they placed 3rd overall.

Senior Jacob Ivins commented on the race.

“The fact that we could possibly get a medal was also a big motivator and created a common goal among the team. I personally believe that this relay team is going to make it far, hopefully to the state championship,” said Ivins.

From that relay, Evan Roney placed 1st in the boys 1600. Cole Boller-Pinkham placed 3rd in the 1000. And Jacob Ivins placed 4th in the 300 meter dash.

The girls had a successful meet as well. Megan Timmes placed 2nd in the 1600 and the 3200. Brianna Marando placed 3rd in shot put.

The next indoor track meet will take place January 8 at VMI.
