The Wildcats Dive in with the Knights

On Dec. 7,2022 the RCHS swim team traveled to Turner Ashby to swim against the Knights. Emma Watkins, senior captain on the RCHS swim team swam the 200 relay free.

“I feel good about how I did, I’m honestly working with a knee injury so I’m honestly shocked I even managed to swim.”

Many new members have joined the team this year.

“I think our goal as a team is to just improve every meet and go to states,” says Watkins.

Senior Abby Hickman swam the 100 breast and placed first and the 200 freestyle and placed second in her group.

Senior Sofia Vargas swam the 500 free and placed second in her group.

The ‘Cats next swim meet is a home meet against the Broadway Gobblers Dec. 16.

Senior Emma Bates is a first year journalism student. She spends most of her time cheering for the football team and also participating on the competition cheer team. She is a varsity cheer team captain. Bates is also part of the National Honors Society and is the “Silver Chair” on the school’s SCA executive counsel. She also is a vicious attacker on the lacrosse team. She enjoys eating chocolate and drinking Dr. Pepper. When she is not hanging out with her friends in Walmart, she can be seen eating out at the local Dons Tequila. One of her favorite animals is a blob fish.
