Winter sports seasons just started in November, and the girls basketball team are getting in the game and practicing hard to show their skills. The players this year for girls basketball are: Claire Taylor, Emma Clark, Ruby McCormick-Goodhart, Desire Long, Isabella Dorey, Alexis Samante-Asuncion, Destiny Camden, Natalie-Blair Samante-Asuncion, Abigail Bouchard, and Desirae Butler.
Junior Destiny Camden is number 15 and is one of the fronts on the team. Camden gets ready by doing drills and plays with her coaches, Daryl Plogger and Ricardo Haston.
Camden speaks on the bond with her team.
“I’m going to miss them all, especially one since one of them is my best friend,” Camden said.
As the girls basketball team plays, senior Emma Clark is watching her final season go on too fast. Clark has been playing basketball since she was only 3 years old but has been on the girls basketball team for 5 years. Clark is number 23 and is one of the Guards on the team. She gets ready for this season by training a lot as well as playing basketball with a travel team.
“I’m really excited for how much we’ve improved and I’m really excited to see how that goes into games,” Clark said.
Although Clark is excited for the new season, this is the last one with the team at RCHS,
“I feel sad that it is my senior year but I am very happy and proud that I get to play with an amazing group of girls” Clark said
Clark plans to continue her basketball journey at Bridgewater College.
