Coming back after last season with a 2-13 overall record. The soccer team lost four seniors, but have numerous new players to add to varsity, along with almost all the players from last season returning.
Junior John David talks about his team and personal goals for the season.
“I hope to score more than two goals in a game this year. I did last year in a scrimmage, but I want to transfer that over to a real game,” David said.
The players each have different goals set for themselves as they enter into this new season. Senior captain Paul Drumbl has many goals and talks about what he is excited for this season and what he looks forward to being a captain.
“I’m really looking forward to this season since it is my last and I’ve been playing at RCHS since I was an eighth grader. I’m super excited to finish out with a great group of teammates, both new and old, and hopefully we can get some good results this year. As a captain I’m excited to step into a larger role on the team and work as a mentor for the younger players,” Drumbl said.
The soccer team goes to William Monroe in their first conference game on April 4th hoping for a better result than last year’s loss.
Come support the team at their first home game on April 8 against Spotswood kickoff at 7:00pm.
