As the snow starts to melt away, the weather isn’t the only thing warming up. For lots of different spring sports athletes, it’s time to start preseason. For the Wildcats baseball team, this preseason brings a lot of hype for the upcoming games.
Sophomore Bradi Zigler can vouch for how hard they’ve been working, and shares his hopes for the season.
“I’m looking forward to playing with the seniors for one last year, and hopefully getting closer as a team,” said Zigler. “We worked hard last year, and I hope we can work even harder this year.”
This season means a lot to graduating seniors, as it’s their last chance to play for the high-school before going off to college. Hopes are high to give the seniors one last good season, and blank blank shares those hopes.
For his last season on the team, senior Brady Majors really wants to make it a memorable one, filled with lots of wins.
“I really want to have one last good season before I’m off to college,” said Majors.
With the pressure for seniors to have one more good season, and the opportunity for incoming freshmen to play, this season will no doubt be memorable. Another senior player, Brady Edwards, is already committed to Ferrum college, a D2 college in Virginia, which only adds more pressure. Last year’s statistics for the baseball team show that the team went 5-15, and 2-10 in the Region. Hopes are high this year that the team will go farther than sixth in the regions. Come out and support the team at their first home game on March 26th against Allegheny!
