Rockbridge County Defeats Greenbriar East In a Close Battle
Rockbridge County Wrestling competed against Greenbriar East High School from West Virginia Jan. 20. The tournament dual took place in Cormack Hall at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. (Get wrestler quote)
Rockbridge pulled off a victory by two points, winning the meet 39-37. Four RCHS wrestlers got a pin: Markus Nelson, Aidan Williams, Zeke Mohr, and Brice Hall. Thomas Maxwell also won with a minor decision from the judges.
The win brings the season record to 10 wins and two losses. RCHS will host the district tournament Jan. 25.

Sophomore Oscar Kosky is a first time reporter and writer for the Rockbridge County Prowler. He participates in the fall recreational league and the spring school soccer club. Recently, he joined Rockbridge County’s Model UN team. In his pastime, Kosky enjoys being a world class mushroom-hunter, cooking a variety of international dishes for himself, and playing Rocket League with his uncle, Dwayne “The Rock” Douglas Johnson. He lives with his parents and sometimes his sister who goes to college in NY. His pets include two cats, 8 chickens, and one parakeet. In the future he hopes to overcome his crippling horse race gambling addiction and study Mycology in college to further his love of mushroom-hunting in the Cardamom Rainforest in Cambodia.
