Christina Tweardy is the new biology and theater arts teacher at RCHS. Tweardy is from Johnstown, Pa. Before switching to RCHS, Tweardy was a teacher at Genesis Alternative School, located in Staunton, Va. where other school districts send middle and high school students with poor grades, discipline, and attendance issues.
“Most of the students were sent to Genesis for discipline issues,” Tweardy said. “Genesis is a little bit different than a regular public school.”
Tweardy’s main dislike is the size of the school. With roughly 1,000 students attending RCHS, she finds that the school is very big.
One of Tweardy’s favorite things about RCHS is the positivity and school spirit shared by students.
“Everyone really seems to have a great amount of school spirit around here,” said Tweardy.
Tweardy also likes how supportive everyone is of each other as she continues to settle into RCHS.
