Kendall Nye Commits to Liberty
Kendall Nye is a senior at Rockbridge County High School. Nye has spent her four years at RCHS playing multiple sports, but her favorite has been lacrosse. Because of this, Nye has had plans of playing lacrosse at a collegiate level since a young age. Over the summer, she accomplished this goal by verbally committing to play D1 Lacrosse at Liberty University in July 2021.
Nye had options as to where to play and go to school. However, after looking at several colleges, she chose Liberty for reasons that are important to her.
“The family atmosphere with the coaches and players is what ensured me that Liberty was the right choice,” says Nye, “Everyone is extremely welcoming.”
Nye says that applying to Liberty was easy for her. She went to a lacrosse camp over the summer that made her realize what Liberty was all about. After her camp she was left with information not only on the school but the lacrosse program as well.
“The biggest step I took was going to their camp over the summer. That gave me exposure to the coaches and helped me build a relationship with them and the team as well,” said Nye.
Nye is excited to play at a collegiate level. She looks forward to the bigger competition that Liberty will have. She is also excited to be able to travel around the country and grow a bond with her new teammates.
Nye is thankful for all the teammates she has encountered, but most importantly she is thankful for her mom who has always encouraged her to be the best she can.
“I’m grateful for my mom pushing me, I wouldn’t be where I would be without her support,” says Nye.
