Friday Oct. 14, 2022 RCHS Varsity Football traveled to Waynesboro High School to face off against the Little Giants. The first half of the game showed promise for the Wildcats with a touchdown from Garrett Claytor. 

Senior Garrett Claytor played as quarterback for Friday’s game. 

“I thought I played well considering this was my first game back starting at QB from my concussion,” said Claytor. “A big highlight for me was my touchdown on the opening drive of the game.”

The Wildcats fought hard in the second half with notable defensive plays from senior Josh Wright. However, they came up short with a final score of 7-24. 

“The team as a whole did not play to the best of our ability,” said Claytor. “There are things we need to correct but we played hard until the end.”

The team will kick off Homecoming weekend playing at home against Broadway High School on Oct. 21, 2022.
