Students in Hospitality prepare for the Cat Crew Cupcake sale.

Ms. Mckenzey Robinson’s Hospitality class is selling “Cat Crew Cupcakes” for Valentines Day this year. The cupcakes are on sale Feb. 7th-14th.

The cupcakes are being sold for $2 each. There are also two bundles students can choose to buy. Half a dozen is $12 and a dozen is $24. Students are able to choose a variety of flavors or all of the same. The proceeds from the cupcakes will go to the Hospitality class.

There are four different kinds of cupcakes that students are able to choose from. The four flavors are brookie cookie, queen of hearts, vanilla be mine, and strawberry kiss.

The Hospitality class decided on the flavors from student favorites from last year. There is one new flavor this year, strawberry kiss. The class decided on this for the students who may have dietary restrictions.

Freshman Mackenzie McCormick spoke about buying the cupcakes.

“No I do not plan on buying any, but if I did, I would get the brookie cookie cupcake,” said McCormick.

This is a great experience for the students making these as well, they are happy to make the cupcakes and learn more in the kitchen. Hospitality teacher McKenzey Robinson speaks about what she believes her students get out of making these cupcakes.

“They get to learn about food safety and production…advertisement, with the marketing side of it because of the posters and flyers,” said Robinson.

According to Ms. Robinson, the cupcakes are not very difficult to make, it is just a lot of steps through the process.

The cupcakes were a successful fundraiser last year and hopefully continue to be. Many high school students enjoy the Valentine’s treat!
