The Lady Wildcats volleyball team bested Harrisonburg with a score of 25-11 in the final set.

The players worked together to continuously score on the opposing team. Hitters Keely Doyle and Hannah Burch were the most active in scoring and had more than 10 kills each, while their teammates provided defense. In each set, the ‘Cats scored between 20-22 points, keeping Harrisonburg with scores between 10-11.

“I feel like we stuck with it and played together as a team throughout the whole thing, and ended up with a win,” said libero Kennedy Clemmer.

Head coach Amanda McCoy is proud of her team’s achievements.

“For us to come out and win 3-0 and keep our opponent below 15 points in each set is definitely an accomplishment,” said McCoy. “We have a lot of leadership on the floor, we have three seniors that did a good job with really leading the team, and two of our front line attackers had above 10 kills, which is a huge accomplishment in any type of three-set match.”

Boosted by the win, the ‘Cats hope to have a successful season and become first in the district.
