Rockbridge County’s cross country team traveled to Cary, NC for a meet called the “Adidas Challenge.” It was a huge race day with over 3000 athletes divided into several races. The girls won their race of 22 teams. The boys got fifth out of 22 teams.

Sophomore Brooke Eichelberger and Freshman Dorothy Lewis had PR’s. Senior Evan Roney finished 6th. The top 25 got medals. The top girls were: Junior Deena Ludtke 4th, Senior Megan Timmes 6th, Junior Nicole Black 7th, Senior Grace Rolon 22nd, and Dorothy Lewis 25th.

Both teams raced well and worked together with their teammates.

Coach Tisone was proud of her team and enjoyed the weekend with them in an environment she loves.

“It was fun to go to an out-of-state meet and we also got to watch a women’s college meet the night before our race that included the 2021 National Champion Team,” said Coach Tisone.

The next Cross Country meet will be against Alleghnat County, vs. Alleghany High School. The time is to be determined.
