Lady Cats’ Fall to the Blue Streaks

The lady cats basketball team took on the blue streaks of Harrisonburg on Tuesday Jan. 24. The girls team lost 33-48. Junior Halina Homiak, a post on the girls basketball team, comments on the game.

“The team did okay, we have some stuff to work on. Trying to get our 2-13 record up. We were able to accomplish our one play but our shots just would not fall,” said Homiak.

This year the team lost two of their top scorers. The JV team also lost to the blue streaks 31-45.

The game started off strong going back and forth between both teams. But at the start of the second half the cats started to trail behind the bluestreaks.

Their next game is at home Jan 31.2023.

Senior Emma Bates is a first year journalism student. She spends most of her time cheering for the football team and also participating on the competition cheer team. She is a varsity cheer team captain. Bates is also part of the National Honors Society and is the “Silver Chair” on the school’s SCA executive counsel.
