The boys’ basketball team defeated the Turner Ashby Knights with a final score of 59-34. The game was close through the first half, with a score of 20-18 at halftime. The ‘Cats scored 39 second half points, leading them to a victory.

Junior Harrison Hundley led the team with 12 points on four 3-pointers. Hundley thinks the team improved their shooting in the second half.

“Our biggest accomplishment was playing really well in the second half to carry us to a victory,” said Hundley. “We did not shoot the ball well in the first half, so our challenge was concentrating on our jump shots and making a higher percentage.”

Junior Caleb Walker scored nine points, and sophomore Jalik Lynch and senior Triniti Stores both scored eight points.

The ‘Cats played the majority of the game without one of their starters, Alex Balisteri, who dislocated his shoulder in the first quarter.

This win brings the Wildcats’ record to 7-3. Their next game will be at Harrisonburg on Jan. 12.
