Senior Shane Kearney has been playing tennis for years, and during the 2016-2017 season he advanced all the way to the regional finals during his tennis season. Over the summer, Kearney decided to use his talents to help his teammates by holding skills clinics twice a week.

“I’ve been playing tennis for a while, so I could just reinforce tennis fundamentals,” said Kearney. “My goal was just to boost them for the season so we can be a lot better.”

For junior Abby Kline, the majority of her time at the clinic focused on perfecting her serve.

“I struggled with serving a lot before,” said Kline, “so Shane helped me work on my serve and get more powerful shots.”

Senior Sullivan Ray also attended the clinics in hopes of starting her senior season off with a strong foundation.

“The clinics were very personalized,” said Ray. “Shane really was willing to work on whatever we needed. He helped me a lot with my serves.”

Kearney continued to work with his teammates through the fall, until the boys’ head coach started conducting clinics four days a week for both the boys and girls team. With all the work put in over the summer, Kearney is hopeful for a successful season.
