Girls cross country came in second place at their second home meet of the year by a score of 24-32. The Cats’ lost to Turner Ashby by a close eight points, but junior Faerin Dick was able to score first place for the Cats’. In the beginning of the race Dick was behind two Turner Ashby runners, but in the last two miles of the course she pulled ahead winning first place with a time of 23:13.11.

Head coach Christopher Bowring was very proud of the girls hard work and happy with Dick’s place in the race.

“ I think the most exciting thing was Faerin winning the race, that to me was pretty cool. She passed one runner and then she passed another and she held onto the lead for the rest of race,” said Bowring.

Junior Violet Jetton took third place in the race with a time of 23:05.32. Additionally, sophomore Aili Waller came in eighth place with a time of 25:10.30.

The next home meet will be Nov. 2 which will determine whether the girls go to states.
