The Wildcats of the junior varsity softball team fell to Fort Defiance in 6-16 defeat on the 28th. Adding onto a two-game losing streak, the team looked to bounce back on the 30th. Fortunately, Stuarts Draft lost to Rockbridge 13-6. Raising up their wins, they have a total of four now.

Stephanie Ross, who is a right fielder on junior varsity, states, “That day [Mar. 29] was absolutely freezing. We did have some great plays but we also had some that made us lose that game. We made some mistakes that cost us that game, but we will come back with vengeance. As always there are things we will need to work on, but we get better by the day.”

On the other hand, in a 0-15 loss against James River (Buchanan) on the 29th, RCHS varsity softball team added onto their 2-4 record into a 2-5 record. As devastating this defeat is, varsity members look onto future games with prospect.

Marla Zollman on the varsity team reported, “The game against James River was bad. We had no communication and there were a lot of missed fly balls. We have worked on it. [Our performance] was not the best but not the worst.”
