The Rockbridge softball team suffered a 7-4 defeat to Alleghany on March 22. Despite the loss, the team showed promising potential and the ability to win upcoming games.

Senior outfielder Kelsie Caldwell contributed a hit in the game and gave her thoughts on the contest.

“Overall we did good, just need to start hitting the ball and having more confidence in ourselves as a team,” said Caldwell.

Sophomore catcher Parker Dameron, Senior outfielder Chasity Southers, Freshman infielder Bella Dorey and Senior outfielder Kaydence Wilson all scored a run.

The team plans to work on some skills to prepare for the rest of the season.

The Wildcat’s next game is at home against James River on March 24.
