Boys Basketball Prepares for upcoming season

Winter Sports seasons started in November, and the boys basketball team are planning on making a comeback this season and dunk into a new season. This year, the roster for boys basketball is: Price Lunsford, Bradi Ziegler, Jaxon Johnson, Jakob Bailey, Xavier Flowers, Brayden Camden, Brenden Staley, Fisher Newhall, Avery McDaniel, Jonathan Soriano, Leandro Serrada-Marin, Maliq Corbin, and Christian Moore and the coach is Robert Winfield.

Last year, the boys basketball team had an overall record of 0-22.

Junior Bradi Ziegler plays point guard. Ziegler has been working hard in preparation for this upcoming season.

“I’ve been practicing over the summer by myself and with the high school and travel teams, and I went to different tournaments with travel teams,” Ziegler said.

Senior Jaxon Johnson plays center. He is ready to give his best for his last season of basketball.

“Me being a senior gives me motivation to push myself and my teammates because this is the last chance I will be able to play for this team,” Johnson said.

The Boys Basketball team plans on making a comeback this season and are motivated to win.

Zach Watts is a senior at Rockbridge County High School and is a second year reporter for The Prowler, he is a member of the Hinojosa Boxing Club’s competitive boxing team and plans on competing in the Virginia State Silver Gloves in November. Zach Watts is also passionate about fishing. Outside of sports, he likes to spend time with friends and family, and watching sports and movies. This year, he is looking forward to going on the senior field trips and spending one more year in High School with his friends. After high school, he plans on attending a four year college.
