Volleyball vs Spotswood

The ‘Cats volleyball team fell to the Spotswood Trailblazers 2 sets to 3. The Wildcats won the first two sets before losing the next two and dropping the tie-breaking set.

The ‘Cats came out on top in the first two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-14. The Blazers came back and won two close sets with scores of 25-23 and 25-21.

With a score of 2 sets to 2 the game went to the tie-breaker round. The ‘Cats held on for a close game before eventually losing 15-12.

Kennedy Clemmer facilitated well for her team, putting up 42 assists on the night. Her unselfish play allowed her teammates to score efficiently. Keeley Doyle had 13 kills, Jaydyn Clemmer had 12, and Hannah Burch had 10. Burch and Meredith Lawhorne each scored two aces on the night.

Kennedy Clemmer led the defense with 19 digs, and Jaden Harrison, the libero, added 18 digs.

Despite the loss  Kennedy Clemmer was proud of the way her team played and adapted to the injury of a teammate.

“I think we played well, one of our players was hurt so we had to try a new lineup and I think we played well the first two sets, and then we all just got kind of tired and emotionally drained, but I think we fought through it pretty well. But I wish it turned out differently,” said Clemmer.

This loss brought the ‘Cats record to 13-3 as they head towards the end of the regular season.
