On Aug. 23 the lady cats volleyball team went head to head with our school rivals, the Parry McCluer Blues. Junior varsity won with a score of 2-0, winning the sets by 25-12 and 29-27. In the varsity game, RCHS dominated the court winning 3-0 with set scores of: 25-8, 25-11, and 25-18.

Commending the team’s incredible performance, Senior Lexi Polly said, “I think it went well for our first game, we were playing really well the first and second set and our energy was really high.”

As for the team’s goals this year, “We want to go to states,” said Polly.

Senior Jaden McCoy and Junior Nala Shearer played especially well, leading their team to an overwhelming victory. This game marked the first win of the season as well as the first career victory for new head coach, Coach Kassidy Beagan. Their next game is scheduled for Sept. 13 against Turner Ashby at Turner Ashby High School.
