This past Saturday, Sept. 10, the cross country team competed in the Knights Crossing meet at Green Hill Park in Salem, VA. Over ninety highschool teams competed in races.

“There were 19 personal records that day. It is a super fun, fast, flat course,” said head coach Julie Tisone. The girls beat many of their top competitors, bringing home tenth place out of thirty-six teams. The boys placed eighteenth out of thirty-eight teams.

At this meet, two Wildcats broke their personal records. One being Senior, Evan Roney and the other Junior, Deena Ludtke. Roney was the top boy, running with a 16:30 PR, and Ludtke was our top girl with a 20:08 PR. Ludtke also came in first for the Wildcats, with Nicole Black right behind her. Roney finished twenty-ninth overall.

Join the Wildcat’s cross country team for their next race! It will be Sept. 19 against Blacksburg. The meet will be held at Blacksburg Highschool, the time has yet to be decided.
