Kim Troise is a new math instructor for Algebra part I and algebra college preparation, teaching the new freshmen class.

Troise grew up in Asheville, N.C. in her early years. After high school, she went to the University of  North Carolina Greensboro and James Madison University, where she got a degree in education.

Troise has taught grade 6-12 at various schools, beginning with AC Reynolds High School, then Parry McCluer Middle School, Rockbridge Middle School, and Maury River Middle School.

Although Troise has taught at many different schools, she is glad to be in the Rockbridge atmosphere.

“I love it here,” said Troise. “ My favorite part of my job is my students. I have great students this year and I am enjoying my new administration. They’re very helpful.”

Troise wants to spread more positivity in the subject of math, making it more of an enjoyable subject for all.

“My goal for this year is for students to leave my room liking math,” said Troise. “They don’t have to love it, but I don’t want them to hate it either.”
