Every four years, fans come together and watch their countries play soccer at the World Cup. This winter, the tournament is being hosted in Qatar, with big names like England, Spain, Portugal, and Argentina all competing. With all these power house teams, it is unclear who will raise the trophy after the final. However, I believe that the favorites, Brazil, will live up to the hype and win their sixth World Cup.

Brazil was ranked number one in the most recent FIFA rankings, and they have the players to back it up. Their high-octane attack is powered by star players Neymar, Richarilson, and Vinicus Jr. Neymar is playing in his third World Cup, and has scored 75 goals for the Brazil national team, just 2 short of the Brazil record set by the legendary Pele in 1971.

On the defensive side, captain Thiago Silva leads the way, as well as star goalkeeper Alisson. Other Brazilian defenders include center back Marquinhos, wing back Dani Alves, and midfielder Casemiro. In my opinion, the depth and talent of their squad will be what wins them the World Cup.

Richarilson led Brazil to a good start to the tournament, scoring twice in their first game, a 2-0 win against Serbia. Neymar suffered an ankle injury during the game however, meaning that Brazil will be without their star until at least the knockout stages. Four days later, Casemiro scored in the 83rd minute to get Brazil a 1-0 win over Switzerland and a spot in the knockout stage of the tournament. Brazil lost their final group stage game 0-1 to Cameroon, but still placed first in their group, advancing to the round of 16.
